James (Jim) E. Leisenring is named one of the towering figures in American wet-fly fishing and the author of the classic book “The Art of Tying the Wet Fly and Fishing the Flymph”. In the late 80’s the swedish flyfisher and illustrator Gunnar Johnson published his book ”Flymfer & andre mjukhacklede flugor together with Anders Forsling – a book about softhackled flies in a scandinavian point of view compared to Leisenrings bible on softhackles. In this book a tying method is described and shown in a pattern called Emma. We once again have our own Lars Chr. Bentsen behind the vise to demonstrate this simple fly using only few materials in this video - all kept in the historical point of view.

Since you got this far …

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
